Is a 97.7% drop in PSA after hormone therapy unusual? What does it mean?
My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 6 months ago. His psa was 898. The cancer had spread up to his collar bone, spine and his lymph nodes were swollen. After two lupron shots, his psa is now 2.5. Our family is so excited! The doctor’s office seemed pretty surprised at the major drop. Does that mean he may not have the cancer anymore? Also, is that big of a drop unusual? The doc’s staff said they’d not seen that big a drop but the doc was very nonchalant about it.

Can Prostate cancer come back after 17 years?
My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in ’91 and had a radical prostate removal and some radiation treatment. Now after all that time his PSA levels are starting to go up and he has some enlarged lymph nodes around his kidneys.
I’ve never heard of this type of cancer coming back after so long.

Tenderness or growth of male breast after removal of testes to cure prostate cancer?
Hi my father who is 71 years old and has advance stage of prostate cancer. He is going through a surgery for removal of testes to stop cancer growth. Can anyone please share their experience with regards to the side effect related to growth of breast size. Also what other side effects are related to it. Request someone to share their practical experience rather then information from websites. Thanks
